Drone East

Building and Roof Inspections

Drone East are specialists in high-level aerial building surveys and inspections using radio controlled drones (UAV’s) & Extending Photo Mast. Our clients include residential & commercial property owners, leasehold tenants, chartered surveyors, planning consultants, construction companies and religious organisations.

Our pilots are CAA approved (PfCO) and are skilled in flying drones for aerial survey tasks to get a view of those “difficult to reach” places. We can fly our drones close to the roof or building to get detailed aerial HD video footage or high resolution still aerial images – This will require a pre-flight survey to ensure any drone flight is carried out within current legislation.

Drone East offer a very cost effective way to carry out aerial building surveys compared to more expensive traditional methods of scaffolding, platforms or hiring a cherry picker. No one leaves the ground so you do not have to worry about the HSE – “Working at Height” health and safety regulations.

This is even more useful if the roof or structure is unsound or has difficult or complex access. We can do high level aerial surveys from ground level to 400ft. You can also stand with us and monitor the video on the ground in real time as we fly, so you know we are getting the exact images you are looking for.

We can cover a large surveying area in quite a short time-frame. The drones we use will fly over 20 minutes before having to land to change the battery. We carry spare pre-charged batteries on each survey. It only takes a few minutes to change the battery and get back in air. So we are able to fly for long periods of time with very little disruption.

All of our clients have access to their survey report video and images via the cloud or memory stick, so you can view on your own laptop, tablet or PC. You can zoom in to inspect brickwork, stonework, any restoration work, chimneys, roof tiles, lead work, pointing and roof valleys, for full analysis in your own time and in your own office. These files can then be shown to any experts to assess them if required.

Our CAA flight planning and risk assessment start after our first conversation about the tasks required. Our pilot will then carry out an on-site risk assessment before any flights can happen. This to ensure strict safety procedures are adhered to and the safety of the public at the flight location is maintained.

Contact us to discuss pricing for your task as each job is priced individually based on several factors, including a pricing structure for multi-site or regular contract aerial inspections, as part of any scheduled and preventative maintenance program.
